Dr. Ir. Mohammad Mukhlis Kamal, MSc, Executive Director of ADI, explained efforts to mitigate the
interaction of fishing activities with marine mammals in a discussion held by the Research and
Human Resources Agency, KKP which was held on October 27, 2021. This discussion was in the
context of continuing focus group discussions (Focus Group Discussion, FGD) which was previously
conducted as part of a series of “Bycatch Studies in the Form of Marine Mammals in Capture
Fisheries Activities”, the issues presented in this discussion included the impact of fisheries on
marine mammals and vice versa to the observation protocol in identifying species. mammals and by
