Supporting the Acceleration of Sustainable Fisheries through Chain of Custody with MSC Indonesia

On 14-15 August 2020, the Indonesian Demersal Association (ADI) participated in the “Online Training and Preparation for the CoC (Chain of Custody) Audit” facilitated by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Indonesia. This training was opened by the Marketing Director of the Directorate General of PDSPKP KKP, Machmud, SP, M.Sc. Participants of this activity are all ADI members, namely from PT Bumi Menara Internusa, PT Trans Anugrah Mulia, PT Kelola Mina Laut, PT Inti Lautan Fajar Abadi, PT Alam Jaya, PT Varia Niaga Nusantara, PT Kemilau Bintang Timur, PT Cilacap Samudera Fishing Industry , PT Sukses Hasil Alam Nusaindo, PT Inti Luhur Fuja Abadi, PT Bahari Biru Nusantara, PT Arta Mina and CV Inti Makmur. This training is the 4th online training held by MSC Indonesia with the association.

Chain of Custody (CoC) training is important as an effort to support the acceleration of sustainable fisheries management and marketing of Indonesian fishery products in accordance with statutory provisions. This is to realize responsible fisheries business practices in Indonesia. This training is expected to be a forum for learning and training for MSC CoC audit preparation as well as an identification audit practice or mock audit in order to achieve a supply chain traceability program for companies.
