OPENING OF CORAL GARDEN ACTIVITIES IN BARRANG CADDI AND BARRANG LOMPO ISLAND KEP SANGKARRANG, MAKASSAR CITY, SOUTH SULAWESI

The Kitaji Pinisi Foundation (YKP) Indonesia is currently carrying out the development of a coral garden on Barrang Lompo Island and Barrang Caddi Island, Makassar City, South Sulawesi which has received support from the Indonesian Capital Market and the KEHATI Foundation. The purpose of this activity is to restore coral reefs that have been damaged by various kinds of pressure, one of which is due to the use of resources that are not environmentally friendly. Restoration is generally done by taking coral seedlings from locations that are still in good condition, but this can also trigger damage to existing coral reef locations. Therefore, efforts are needed to provide coral seeds using the Coral Tree Nursery (CTN) method to support coral reef conservation activities in a sustainable manner.

This activity was held on August 22 2023 and in this activity the Indonesian Demersal Association (ADI) represented by Chairman III Mr. Agus Saputra also attended and took part in the activity.
